John is one of the founding directors of Lake Imaging, a radiology business that operates in Ballarat and other areas of regional Victoria. John is the current CEO of Integral Diagnostics, the parent company of Lake imaging, where it operates one of Australia’s largest Radiology groups. John sits on the Board of Integral Diagnostics and is a member of the Australia Institute of Company Directors.
John has a keen interest in the community having previously been a director of United Way, Ballarat and Vic West Community Telco; John is currently Chair of Ballarat Clarendon College.
John’s son is passionate about his soccer and plays in the U15 team.
Michael is a local Obstetrician and Gynaecologist with 26 years of medical experience and 20 years running his own practice.
Michael came to Ballarat in 2005 and has a keen interest in community development and health, especially with regard to sport and associated health benefits.
Michael’s son, Lachlan, plays in the U14 team.
Community Football Director
Herman is the current president of the Ballarat and District Soccer Association and has a long affiliation with soccer in Ballarat. He is a past president and committee member of the former Ballarat Red Devils at both senior and junior levels.
Herman has dedicated more than half his lifetime to the growth of football in the Ballarat region and continues to serve the local football community through his roles with the BDSA and BCFC.
Katie is a journalist with 16 years’ experience in print and digital media. In her current role as editorial transformation coordinator with Fairfax Media, she is helping to transform Fairfax’s regional newsroom operations.
Katie joined the Board in 2016 to assist with the development of a media strategy. She has been involved with the club since 2000 through her partner Tony Spurgo, who is a past player, president and committee member.
Katie has two young sons – Matteo, 5, and Arlo, 3, – who look forward to playing soccer for Ballarat City one day! Katie and Tony are expecting their third child at the end of March.

Andrew has been associated with Ballarat Soccer for over 40 years and has previously served as a player, board member and club President of the Ballarat Red Devils.
As an inaugural Board Member of Football Federation South West Victoria Andrew successfully lobbied local, State and Federal Government to secure funding for the Ballarat Regional Football Facility.
Currently employed as a Partnership Coordinator with Regional Development Victoria Andrew is passionate about building strong relationships and securing the future of football in the region by establishing a transparently governed members club.
Andrew’s son Bailey plays with the U15 squad.
Born in Ballarat, Tony is a Chartered Accountant with over 25 years national and international experience. He has been Chief Financial Officer, Company Secretary of a public company and served on a public company board. For the past 11 years Tony has been Managing Partner of SED Advisory, a professional services firm providing economic, strategy, planning and governance advice to Governments, Corporates and not for profit organisations.
Tony is a life member of the Golden Point Cricket Club and served on the committee for many years. He is also a current member of the Australian Industry Group’s Regional Committee.
Tony’s son plays with the Academy under 12 team.
Courtney currently works as Fairfax Marketing Specialist at the Courier Ballarat. Prior to this, she worked in Event Management across multiple hotel chains in Sydney. In 2011, Courtney completed a Bachelor of Business with (SCU) Southern Cross University.
Courtney has been a club supporter since 2013 and joined the BCFC board in December 2016.
